On April 30, all jazz lovers of the world celebrate International Jazz Day.
This day unites musicians and fans of this musical style all over the world. It has been celebrated since 2011 and was initiated by UNESCO, because jazz is called not only music, but a way of life!
Lviv, as the most jazzy city of Ukraine, traditionally joins the celebration of this date. For two days, on April 29 and 30, the best jazz performers of Ukraine will present exceptional music and a brilliant live performance for all connoisseurs of real jazz!
On April 29, at 3:00 p.m., “JAZZ JAM DAY” will begin at the Lviv Professional Music College named after S. P. Lyudkevich, and at 19:00 in “Dzyza” a big jam session with top musicians of Ukraine. Jazz events will also take place in three more Lviv locations, which will become known closer to the festival. Therefore, the organizers invite you to follow the announcements on the official pages in social networks so as not to miss the concert of your favorite jazzmen.

“The Lyudkevych Symphony Orchestra will start the jazz marathon on April 30 with the famous Rhapsody in Blues style, which has been one of the most popular works at the intersection of classical and jazz for almost a hundred years. The marathon will be continued by the oldest jazz group in Lviv – Dixieland Band “Medicus.
A separate part of the concert program will be the Jazz Academy project. The legendary Ukrainian jazzman Ihor Zakus will take part in it together with students and residents of the Kyiv Municipal Academy of Music named after R. Gliera. Another participant will be the Grammy Award-nominated Usein Bekirov Jazz Project, which will perform accompanied by musicians-teachers of the department of jazz and popular music of the M. V.
