The performance began with Chamber Symphony No. 3 by the luminary of Ukrainian classical music Yevhen Stankovych. The First Piano Concerto by Johannes Brahms was announced as the next number of the program, with a solo performance by the famous Ukrainian-American pianist Stanislav Khristenko.
The third piece on the program was Antonin Dvořák’s Ninth Symphony “From the New World”, which became world famous after its world premiere here at Carnegie Hall.

As a reminder, the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Lviv National Philharmonic, founded in 1902, is one of the largest national and world-renowned ensembles with a distinctive history. This year’s large-scale foreign tour lasts from January to March and includes approximately 40 concerts at the most famous and diverse venues in America.
