An exhibition of paintings by the famous artist opened in the Drohobychchyna Museum

On Thursday, 6 June, at 15:00, Drohobych residents and guests are invited to the opening of a landmark exhibition by the famous artist Emma Andievska, who has become a brand and a bright standard of Ukrainian surrealism.

The artist was born in 1931, a year before the Holodomor, she saw war and repression, but none of her works reflect this. On the contrary, she is surprisingly optimistic, turning to colour, absurdity and surrealism to show this injustice and to look for possible ways out of the abyss in her imagination and reality. The artist’s grotesque and bizarre images will undoubtedly irritate the imagination for decades after their creation, and the energy of her works will penetrate the soul of everyone who sees them, regardless of time and space, like the shining of distant stars.

Despite her venerable age, Emma Andievska constantly creates new paintings, works very quickly and hard, so her artistic heritage includes more than ten thousand works.

The artist lived most of her life abroad, in Germany. However, she still lovingly calls Ukraine “her paradise”.

About fifty bright paintings will be presented in Drohobych.

So all art lovers are invited to see the works of Emma Andievska at the Palace of Arts. The exhibition will run until 15 July.

Entrance during the opening is free.
