Young artists to create seven murals in Lviv

As part of the implementation of the title “Lviv – European Capital of Youth 2025”, 7 new murals will be created in the city by the end of the year on the theme “It’s not easy, but move”. The decision was approved today by the executive committee of the Lviv City Council.

One of the ambitious activities of Lviv – European Youth Capital 2025 is the creation of symbolic murals by young artists in public spaces of the city. These murals are intended to strengthen the voice of young people in city and state building, demonstrate the resilience of the current generation, and provide an opportunity for artistic self-realization.

Seven murals are planned to be painted at the following addresses:

The murals will be united by the theme “It’s not easy, but keep moving”, which is the slogan of Lviv as the Youth Capital of 2025.

“We want to highlight the theme of resilience, overcoming challenges, and continuing to move forward even in the most difficult times. To remind us that even in the darkest times, we must always move forward. Each mural will interpret different aspects of this theme through visual art.

This project will also become a catalyst for cooperation between art influencers, muralists, street artists, NGOs, and local authorities, showing the power of art as a tool that can bring about social change,” emphasizes Oleh Malets, Head of the TORI!

The project is being implemented by the Pixlab design space of the TVORY! network as part of the implementation of the title “Lviv – European Youth Capital 2025” with the support of UNICEF Ukraine and financial support from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) through the state development bank KfW.
