The Hotkevich Palace in Lviv invites a writer

Hotkevicha Palace (1 Kusevicha St.) invites Olga Povoroznyk and Anna Gruver to a literary evening. Participation in the event is free, but registration is required.

On December 20 at 6:30 p.m., as part of the “Places in Change” project, in the Khotkevich Palace, it will be possible to immerse yourself in the experience of changing homes on different levels through the literary work of two authors, Anna Gruver and Olga Povoroznyk – each of them experienced their own forced journey in search of a home .

“War not only turns the world upside down, it uproots people from their usual place of residence. Because of the war, more than 4,000,000 Ukrainians are now refugees in Europe, and more than 3,000,000 Ukrainians have become internally displaced persons in their own country. It is already becoming clear that the change of home is one of the main traumas that Ukrainians will experience after this war. And it’s not only about when we leave our home, but also about the change of the home itself, which can be completely destroyed or changed due to war,” the organizers note in the announcement of the event.

Entry to the event is free with prior registration: https://forms.gle/FBWQwUHrNJzWfsau5

We will remind you that the “Places in Change” project is designed to understand and interpret new states caused by war and global climate change. The optics of the workshop will be formed through a transdisciplinary approach, analog and digital media, discussions and practical works. The project is financed from the Stabilization Fund for Culture and Education 2022 by the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany and the Goethe-Institut.
