The Slavic community will work on organizing the monument protection documentation

This was agreed upon during a meeting with representatives of the local body of urban planning and architecture and clergy.

On March 16, the Department of Architecture and Urban Development of Lviv Regional Government held a meeting with representatives of the Slavska settlement community. The issues of protection and preservation of cultural monuments of national and local importance, in particular, unique wooden churches, were discussed.

“More than 20 objects of cultural heritage are located on the territory of the Slavic community. Among them there are eight wooden temples that belong to architectural monuments of national importance. Therefore, during the meeting, the key was to establish cooperation with parish priests and discuss the issue of streamlining monument protection and legal documents,” said Olena Vasylko, Director of the Department of Architecture.

Also, representatives of the department, together with specialists, visited two churches of the community, which are in need of urgent emergency repair work due to constant blockages. It is about the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in the village of Oporets and the church of St. Basil the Great in the village. Grabovets Both were built in the 19th century and are architectural monuments of national importance.
