A book of stories of Ukrainian soldiers recorded at the front will be presented in Lviv this Sunday

On Sunday, 6 October, at 16:00, the Bohdan Khmelnytsky Park for Culture and Recreation (central alley) will host a presentation of the book “Cutters on the Snags” by military documentarian Iryna Vovk and the renewal of the installation “War Calendar”.

The book “Cutters on the Snags” contains 30 stories of Ukrainian soldiers recorded at the front. This book features soldiers, boys and girls: medics, scouts, attack aircraft, drone operators, artillerymen, infantrymen, air defence personnel who fight honestly. Real soldiers, or rubaks, those who have survived heavy battles, encirclement, and successful offensives, do not talk much about the war. But each and every one of them is an example of dedication, strength and hardening, they are the newest Ukrainian Heroes.

The participants of the event will be the author of the book, Iryna Vovk, and the military and veterans of the Russian-Ukrainian war, the heroes of the book. Among them: Young, Ena, Mushroom, Wild, Erus, BMW, Bagheera, Vesely, Karakurt.

As part of the presentation, the War Calendar installation on the central alley of the Park will also be restored. This is an interactive monument that reminds us every day that the war is ongoing and it is never too late to fight.

This project is important for the Park of Culture because among its employees are volunteers who joined the Armed Forces from the first days of the full-scale invasion and are still keeping us safe today. The territory of the park is a recreational area, but everyone should understand the price of freedom and the opportunity to relax.

The event is organised by the Bohdan Khmelnytsky Park for Culture and Recreation, with the support of the Folio Publishing House, Lviv Radio Podcast Studio, and Lviv BookForum.
