The fifth book fair “Chervonohrad Reads” took place in Chervonohrad

On Sunday, 18 August, the fifth Chervonohrad Reads book fair was held in our city, bringing together 96 authors and artists from all over Ukraine. This event became a great platform for communication with the authors and an opportunity to buy various books, take part in workshops and at the same time support the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Despite the war, the organisers, led by Iryna Pokotylo, managed to create an atmosphere of celebration of the Ukrainian word. Iryna noted that organising the event during the war required taking into account many nuances, including security, which is a very difficult task. Nevertheless, every year we manage to organise a book drive, because the Ukrainian word is a Ukrainian identity, something that needs to be preserved, promoted and loved.
In addition to a book fair from leading publishers, interesting literature and meetings with Ukrainian opinion leaders, the event featured discussion platforms to discuss a variety of topics, master classes, a location for children, an exhibition of embroidered towels from different regions of Ukraine, a charity photo shoot in ethnic style and many other interesting things.
The book fair in Chervonohrad was not only a celebration of the Ukrainian word, but also an opportunity to support Ukrainian defenders, as the event raised funds for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
