A rare textile collage exhibition will open in the “Green Couch” gallery

From January 17 to February 12, the “Calendar” exhibition by Daria Zavyalova and Olena Zotova will be on display at the “Green Couch” art gallery (7 Virmenska St.).

Mystkini are theater artists, creative like-minded people and friends. In 2020, Daria Zavyalova created a series of 12 textile collages “12/20”, dedicated to each month of that quarantine year. Olena Zotova’s work includes a series of textile collages “Four Seasons of the Forest” – a tribute to Paradzhanov, which also reflects time cycles, in particular nature. These series, supplemented by other landscapes of the artists, will make up the “Calendar” exhibition in the “Green Couch” gallery.

“The calendar is the rhythm of time, a reliable keeper of the memory of what was at the root of each culture, as well as the keeper of the personal history of each person. Dates of births, deaths, celebrations and work schedules. And also – the rhythmic dimension of the life of nature and man,” the artists note.

The opening of the exhibition will take place on January 17 at 5:00 p.m. Anyone interested in the art of textile collage is invited to the opening.
