Works by Lviv composers performed in London for the first time

Recently, a charity concert by the London Lyudkevych String Orchestra took place at the Marylebone Theater in the British capital. All the money raised from the event was used to help Ukrainian orphans.

The concert featured Stanislav Liudkevych’s Silent Remembrance, Mykola Kolessa’s In the Mountains, Yakiv Stepovyi’s Prelude to Shevchenko’s Memory, and Alla Sirenko’s Elegy.

The conductor of the evening was Volodymyr Syvokhyp, General Director of the Lviv National Philharmonic.

Violina Petrychenko performed Vasyl Barvinsky’s Piano Concerto with the orchestra. She also played concertos by Mozart and Mendelssohn with a young Ukrainian flutist, Sofia Matvienko.
