A 20-metre-long mural appeared near a playground in Lviv

For almost a week, famous artists from the USA, the UK, Lithuania and Ukraine painted seven different drawings on a 20-metre-long wall, which eventually formed one large panel.

Seven artists arrived in Lviv in early July to create the mural: Judy Tuvaletstiva (USA), Jeff Woodbury (USA), Philip Griswood (UK), Eva Voronetskite (Lithuania), Iryna Vodolazhchenko (Ukraine), Masha Shango (Ukraine) and Ray Bartkus (Lithuania/USA). Each artist painted their own part of the wall in their own style, but in the end, all the drawings formed a single “Tree of Life”.

“When we were looking for a place for the mural, we came to the conclusion that the best place for it would be a public space with a rich and active life. There is a playground and a sports area here. The combination of sports, children’s and art facilities creates a holistic ecosystem for the development and expansion of the worldview. We thank our Lithuanian colleagues for such a good initiative and are already planning further cooperation,” said Oleksiy Taraban, acting head of the Department of Culture of the Lviv City Council.

You can admire the street art in Lviv at 12 Chornomorska Street (the territory of the playground).

The project is a continuation of cooperation between the Government of Lithuania and Lviv City Council. It was implemented with the support of the Department of Culture and the Department of Investment and Projects of the Lviv City Council, as well as with the help of partners Farba Service, LAYER Ukraine, and Fozzy Group.
