The National Academic Theatre named after Maria Zankovetska hosted an exceptional inclusive concert “Songs Born in Lviv”, which has no analogues in Europe. Both professional singers and blind soloists – children and adults from different parts of Ukraine – performed on the same stage, united for a charitable cause.
“It was an incredible evening! It revealed new talents, showed unusual duets and original creative solutions. The audience received a lot of positive emotions and inspiration. The concert reminded everyone that with a strong desire, you can overcome any obstacles,” said Oksana Potymko, founder and producer of the project.
Famous artists performed on stage with the orchestra of the Maria Zankovetska Theatre: PF “Pikkardiyska Tertsiya”, winners of the talent show “The Voice” Zinoviy Karach and Serhiy Lazanovsky, as well as People’s Artist of Ukraine Lesya Horova. The concert featured performances by Volodymyr Ivasyuk, Ihor Bilozir, Kuzma Scriabin, Svyatoslav Vakarchuk and other famous musicians.
The funds raised during the event will be used to set up a mobile camp for visually impaired children and military personnel who lost their sight during the war. The camp will be organised by the Lviv branch of the Ukrainian Union of People with Disabilities – USI.
This concert is a part of the large-scale project “Life has opened”, which brings together professional musicians and blind performers. Since 2008, the project has organised about a hundred concerts in Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania, Sweden, and other countries, bringing together Ukrainian and foreign artists.
