New memorial tour route in Lviv dedicated to the life of Iryna Farion

A new tour route titled “Outline of a Personality on the Map of Lviv: Iryna Farion Memorial Route” has been introduced in Lviv. The first tour is scheduled for Monday, April 28, just before the renowned linguist’s birthday.

This initiative was made possible through the collaboration of local guide Nataliya Zubyk, Iryna Farion’s daughter Sofiya Osoba, and the Lviv Tourist Office.

The route offers a chance to explore Lviv through the eyes of those for whom the city was a cornerstone of their lives and identities.

The journey will begin near the main entrance of the National University “Lviv Polytechnic,” where Farion taught and inspired young generations with ideas of national consciousness. The final stop will be a cozy gathering over coffee and archival video screenings at Valentino restaurant.

The tour covers 16 significant locations, featuring both well-known and lesser-known stories linked to the city’s vibrant past and its iconic figures, including:

along with many other historical figures who shaped Ukraine’s cultural and national identity.
