We invite choirs and vocal ensembles to participate in the festival of choral music “Zhaivir calls friends”. The event will take place on May 27-28 at the chamber stage of Ivan Franko Lviv National University (1 O. Fredra St.).
Choral groups and vocal ensembles of specialized music institutions (specialized music schools, art schools, music schools, music colleges, music faculties of higher educational institutions), music universities, choirs of extracurricular educational institutions are invited to the festival.
Participants of the following categories will perform at the XVIII All-Ukrainian Open Festival of Choral Art “Zhaivir Calls Friends”:
· Children’s choirs and vocal ensembles:
1st category – 6-10 years old;
2nd category – 11-16 years old.
· Academic choirs, student choirs (homogeneous, mixed) and vocal ensembles:
3rd category – 17-25 years old.
In connection with the state of war in the country and the full-scale invasion, this year’s festival is not a competition, but the program requirements of the festival remain traditional, namely: a piece of sacred music, an arrangement of a Ukrainian folk song, a piece by a modern composer. It is mandatory to perform a piece of patriotic theme.
