From 12 to 15 September, Jam Factory Art Centre will host Lithuanian Film Days (Lietuviško kino dienos).
The audience will have the opportunity to watch iconic Lithuanian films and talk to their creators, as well as to the famous Lithuanian film expert Edvinas Pukšta.
On 15 September, a special screening will take place: Jam Factory Art Centre joins the days of honouring the Lithuanian poet and film director Jonas Mekas and, together with about 30 top art institutions of the world, will broadcast the film Requiem.
The programme is part of the Lithuanian Film Days:
- 12/09 19:00 Children from the Hotel America (Vaikai iš “Amerikos” viešbučio).
- 13/09 19:00 The Poet (Poetas).
- 14/09 17:00 Lecture by the programmer and film expert Edvinas Pukšta on the ties between the Lithuanian and Ukrainian film industries during the period of full-scale invasion. Edvinas is an expert in the European Film Awards selection committee and has been a jury member at Cannes, Berlin, Warsaw and other film festivals. - 14/09 19:00 Leap (Šuolis).
- 15/09 18:00 Requiem. The film will be presented by Jonas Mekas’ son Sebastian Mekas from New York. In addition to the screening of Requiem, there will be a reading of Jonas Mekas’s poetry. Entrance is free upon registration (https://forms.gle/yTJnk89GG3qxs4YY7).
All films will be shown in the original language (Lithuanian and English) with Ukrainian subtitles.
