On 18 August, at the Museum of the History of Religion (Potocki Palace), Ivano-Frankivsk artist Andriy Yefimenko presented an exhibition of his works entitled “West-East”.

During the event, the artist shared his memories of his artistic career, stories of everyday life of the military and creative plans for the future.

The artist presented 47 graphic paintings, which he dedicated to the 78th Battalion of the 102nd Brigade, where he defended Ukraine. The paintings demonstrate the everyday life of our defenders. The paintings were also complemented by Andriy’s own poems, in which he reflected his personal thoughts and experiences during his service.

“…You can’t get rid of the thought every moment
That happiness is fragile around us
When the enemy timer is counting down
For every one death is time.”

In the spring of 2022, the soldier served in the Dnipro region, and in the summer – in Zaporizhzhia. Despite the intense combat schedule, he found time for creativity, which became his “outlet between orders, between work”. In Zaporizhzhia, the artist began to record the everyday life of the military in graphic sketches, and he kept his works in his colleague’s ambulance.

The exhibition will run until the end of September 2024.
