The V International Festival of Architecture and Arts “Tower” will be held in Lviv

The event will last for three days – from September 29 to October 1.

This year, the festival will be held under the slogan: “Time of Ukraine: Ukraine’s new place in the world.” Its purpose is to unite and inspire. “Tower” will be a meeting place for a large creative community, will show artistic projects of Ukrainian architects, designers, artists created during the war, will tell about the achievements of Ukrainians working in the field of architecture, art and innovative technologies.

The program of the event includes: lectures, workshops, presentations of new Ukrainian architectural objects, as well as excursions, plein airs, networking and numerous discussions are planned. The participants of the festival will be famous Ukrainian and European architects who will discuss current issues in the field of architecture, in particular: post-war reconstruction and preservation of the architectural heritage of Ukraine.

Among the foreign guests:

Aleksandr Janicki (Alek Janicki) is a Polish artist who created the installation-performance Black Satori (“Black Mirror”) in Swirza within the framework of the Wroclaw Biennale 2023;
Piotr Chuchacz is a famous Polish architect who headed the Chamber of Architects of Poland until the end of 2022, and personally met Ukrainian refugee architects and helped them remain useful in the profession;
Fabio Grilli is an Italian architect, senior project manager at EMMAR (Dubai, UAE), the largest development company in the Arab world.

The organizers of the event planned to hold the event in three locations: the first day – in the Powder Tower, the second – in the Svirz Castle, the last day will be held in the “Leoland” sports and entertainment center (formerly the “Ukraine” Sports Palace).

“Svirg Castle is a unique architectural monument that needs attention. Of course, many objects have been destroyed in Ukraine now, but this cannot be a reason not to take care of those buildings that, fortunately, were not hit by a rocket. A lot has been done in the castle, but more needs to be done. Now the National Union of Architects is actively working on its development. We hope that the festival will draw even more attention to it, as well as to the Powder Tower, because as cultural and artistic centers they need to be restored and developed,” says Angelina Yefimenko, architect, director of the Powder Tower Center for Architecture, Design and Urbanism.

You can enter the festival for free if you register before 22:00 today, September 25. Registration for events at the link: http://vezha-festival.zuap.org/rejestracija/
