More than 100 paintings by Lviv artists were presented at it.

Yesterday, March 30, the opening of the “Spring Salon – 2023” exhibition took place in the Lviv Palace of Arts, where more than 100 paintings by Lviv artists were presented.

This year, the exhibition is dedicated to the heroic defense of Bakhmut, the oldest and most patriotic city of Donetsk region. The opening of the exhibition began with a moment of silence for all those who died defending Ukraine in the confrontation with Russia.

“This exhibition is not the subject itself, but our spirit, which is conveyed even in the colors that we see here, in this expression of abstractions, in other works, is conveyed to our heroes who defend our independence. I am grateful to all the artists who felt this spirit of unity and brought their works here to demonstrate their spirit of solidarity with all those fighters for the Independence of Ukraine and, in particular, this dedication to the defense of the heroic city of Bakhmut”, said the head of the Lviv organization of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine Ihor Havryshkevich

During the event, those who contributed the most to the organization of the exhibition were thanked, in particular, Orest Skop, Oleksandr Krokhmalyuk, Ivan Dybkiv, Yuriy Boyk, Anatoly Slobodian, Hryhoriy Ruzhnyak, Mykhailo Didkivskyi, Mykola Hrymalyuk, etc.

It is worth noting that Bakhmut is one of the most famous cities in Donetsk region since the time of the Cossacks and is the most populated with famous personalities. Borys Horbatov, Ivan Le, Pavlo Baydebura, Yurii Chornyi-Didenko and others started their literary activities in Bakhmut.
