Drohobych Folk Dance Ensemble “Verkhovynka” joined a charity concert in support of the Armed Forces in Rivne

On April 19-20, the Verkhovynka Folk Dance Ensemble of the Drohobych Ivan Franko Folk House, directed by Bohdana Kos, visited Rivne. The young dancers took part in two bright charity concerts to raise funds for the needs of the Rivne unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In this way, they supported the soldiers who keep the peaceful sky for us every day.

Together with Verkhovynka, dance groups from Rivne also demonstrated their dance talents on stage: The Barvy Lada Folk Ensemble and the Lada Model Ensemble.

The creative friendship between the groups from Drohobych and Rivne has been going on for years. Before the full-scale invasion, the dance groups had repeatedly performed on the same stage and made creative friendship visits to the cities. In addition, it should be noted that the companies have been working closely together for many years, as the artistic director of Lada and Barviv Lada, formerly of Drohobych, Victoria Garasymiak, is a Verkhovyna alumna.

In addition to the charity concerts, the members of the two groups attended a dance master class at the Druzhba Folk Dance Ensemble School (Rivne), learned about Polissya traditions, and went on excursions.

The young Drohobych residents say they are ready to continue participating in creative charity events, as they are making their contribution to the Victory by working together.
