The Lviv Regional Council demands a ban on the activities of religious organizations of the UOC of the Moscow Patriarchate

Deputies of the Lviv Regional Council today, November 29, during a session, decided on the need to ban the activities of religious organizations (associations) of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate) on the territory of Lviv Region.

In their decision, the regional elected representatives appeal to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to introduce appropriate legislative changes with the aim of banning the activities of religious organizations of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Ukraine (UOC), whose leadership center is located in the state that carried out military aggression against Ukraine and occupied part of its territory.

The regional council also recommends the local self-government bodies of the Lviv region to promote changes in the subordination of communities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (MP) in canonical and organizational matters by organizing and holding general meetings of religious communities and making appropriate changes and additions to the statutes (regulations) of religious communities.

In addition, the deputies decided to appeal to law enforcement agencies and the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to ensure the preservation of property and cultural values ​​of religious organizations that have decided to switch to other denominations.
