Today the head of the Lviv military administration met at the Shehyni checkpoint with the chairman of the US House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs Gregory Mix
Maksym Kozytskyi discussed with Gregory Mix issues relevant to the Lviv region and stressed the importance of closing the skies over Ukraine.
“More than a million people have already signed an international petition to NATO in this regard. The skies over Ukraine have been closed to civil aviation since the beginning of the war. The most important thing now is to close it to Russia’s military aircraft, because innocent civilians are dying because of it. Russian troops must realize that if they have already gone to war against us, they must fight the Ukrainian army, not unarmed people, ” the head of the military administration said.
Maksym Kozytskyi also asked to support the Ukrainian military with bulletproof vests, combat helmets, vehicles, medicines and field hospitals.
The chairman of the US House Foreign Affairs Committee agreed on the importance of supporting the Ukrainian army and promised to take the initiative to increase aid to Ukraine.
“Now is the time when Ukrainians are fighting not only for themselves, but also for a peaceful future for Europe and the entire civilized world. Our partner countries clearly understand that by helping us to overcome Putin’s totalitarian ambitions, they also care about the security of their countries, ” Maksym Kozytskyi added.
