During the event, representatives of the Basin Council reported on the pollution of surface water bodies and a list of measures aimed at solving the main water and ecological problems.
Today, June 13, another online meeting of the Pripyat River Basin Council took place. Participating in the meeting was attended by acting Oksana Viytyk, Director of the Department of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Lviv Regional Military Administration.
During the event, representatives of the Basin Council reported on the pollution of surface water bodies and a list of measures aimed at solving the main water-ecological problems of the Pripyat sub-basin.
Based on the results of the report, a decision was made at the meeting to create a working group to generalize and prioritize the inclusion of proposals for the formation of the Action Program in the Pripyat River Subbasin Management Plan.
In addition, the state of implementation of measures for preparation and safe passage of floods and rain floods in the Pripyat River basin in 2023 was considered. Based on the results of this, the basin management of Pripyat, Western Bug and Syan, Middle Dnieper with regional offices in Rivne, Volyn, Khmelnytskyi and Ternopil regions, together with local self-government bodies, recommend to ensure the implementation of measures to protect water objects of critical infrastructure, their uninterrupted and sustainable functioning in period of martial law.
In general, during the online event, the key areas of activities of the Basin Council for the near future were determined.
