The situation in the power system remains very difficult, the power deficit persists. In this regard, the schedule of hourly outages continues to operate in the Lviv region, except for the orange ones, the white cells of the graph (“Possible outages”) are involved in shutdowns.

Due to the low consumption limits (50% of the need and less), emergency shutdowns (schedule of emergency shutdowns or special shutdown schedule) had to be applied this week by order of NEC “Ukrenergo”.
The difference between emergency and hourly outage schedules is that hourly outages are planned in advance, and power companies are able to notify consumers about them earlier, unlike emergency outages.
WHAT ARE EMERGENCY SHUTDOWNS (HAV Emergency Shutdown Schedules)?
The schedule of emergency shutdowns includes densely populated neighborhoods with high consumption, including high-rise buildings with electric stoves (in general, this is about 25% of consumers), turning off which allows you to quickly reduce the power consumption in the network. Such principles of formation of emergency schedules are provided by current regulatory documents.
Important: consumers included in the emergency schedules are also included in the hourly schedules, because they have different purposes for use. However, these shutdowns can overlap and increase the time without power.
The special schedule of emergency shutdowns is a separate list of connections that energy workers can quickly and simultaneously turn off in high-voltage networks using remote communication (the time from the order of NEC “Ukrenergo” to its implementation should be up to 3 minutes). The list of consumers in the special schedule of emergency shutdowns may include individual objects of critical infrastructure, this schedule is applied by order of NEC “Ukrenergo” without warning consumers and local authorities in the event of a critical situation in the energy system of Ukraine.
WHO MAKES DECISIONS ABOUT EMERGENCY SHUTDOWNS?
Emergency schedules are entered immediately by order
dispatcher of “Ukrenergo” when there is an emergency shortage of power in the power system of the state, and continue until the corresponding next order of the dispatcher of “Ukrenergo”. In this case, it is impossible to predict the duration of outages or to warn about them in advance.
WHY DO OUTBREAKS HAPPEN?
The reason for blackouts in all regions of our country is the consequences of mass shelling by the Russian occupiers of energy facilities — power plants that produce electricity, as well as substations and lines through which the generated electricity is transmitted.
If the power supply was restored after the shelling, it does not mean that everything is fine in the power grid. Backup circuits cannot withstand a large load, which only increases with the cooling.
WHERE CAN I FIND OUT IF EXCLUSIONS ARE NOW IN PLACE OR NOT?
NEC “Ukrenergo” and “Lvivoblenergo” reports daily information about the introduction of certain power supply restrictions on their official websites, social media pages, call center, and mass media.
