In 2022, the “Drohobytsk Salt Distillation Plant”, which is the oldest enterprise in the country and has the status of cultural heritage of regional importance, increased the production of salt by 2.2 times, to almost 500 tons.
This is reported by the State Property Fund.
Currently, the “Drohobytskyi Salt Distillation Plant” is a state-owned enterprise under the management of the FSMU.
The main consumers of the plant’s products are all-Ukrainian retail chains such as Silpo, Rukavychka and Arsen, local shops and bakeries in Lviv and Vinnytsia regions. The Lviv yeast production enterprise “Enzim” also buys the products of the Drohobytska saltworks.
Salt at the plant is obtained by evaporation of salt oil with a mineralization of 260-295 g/l. After that, workers manually collect, dry and package it. Firewood is used as an energy carrier for salt evaporation. The plant is located in the city of Drohobych, Lviv region.
