In Lviv, parking inspectors issued 2.3 million UAH in fines last week

Over the past week, parking inspectors fined 6,117 drivers for violating the rules of stopping/parking cars, for a total of UAH 2,342,320. Funds from the payment of fines go to the city budget of Lviv. This was reported in the security department of the Lviv City Council.

We remind you that the minimum fine is UAH 340. But, depending on the specifics of the offense, it can increase to UAH 680. If the offending driver pays within 10 days, the amount of the fine is halved.

“Drivers are also fined for non-payment of paid parking services. In such a case, a fine is imposed in the amount of 20 times the cost of an hour of parking,” the LMR security department added.

Also, due to violation of parking rules, 147 vehicles were evacuated to the detention site last week.

“50 parking inspectors are involved in the inspection on the streets of the city. Each of them issues an average of 35 reports on bringing drivers to administrative responsibility every day,” the LMR security department added.

The Lviv City Hall emphasizes that the work of parking inspectors is primarily aimed at preventing spontaneous parking, improving the discipline of paying for paid parking services, prompt temporary detention of vehicles that create a significant obstacle for other road users.

The Lviv City Council strongly urges drivers not to park their cars in violation of traffic rules, in particular, under the signs “stopping is prohibited”, “parking is prohibited”, at intersections. Chaotic parking complicates road traffic, as well as, in the conditions of martial law, the passage of special vehicles, which ensure the life of the city and help the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
