Research and mechanical plant “Karpaty” in the Lviv region is expanding the production of freight cars, has started serial production of containers for transporting bulk materials and is introducing new technologies.

“Due to the stoppage of the production of the metallurgical companies “Azovstal” and “Azovmash” in Ukraine, the production of new freight cars has stopped. It was the enterprise from the Lviv region that found a way to solve the problem: here they developed five models of wagons, which are manufactured with a welded backbone beam,” the message says.
Another problem that arose due to Russia’s military actions against Ukraine is the blocking of Black Sea ports. Therefore, the plant in the Lviv region began serial production of containers for transporting bulk materials on factory-made platforms that meet the requirements for movement on European tracks.
The main areas of activity of the “Karpaty” plant are the construction of freight cars, repair of rolling stock, production of tank containers, containers, metal structures and hydraulic jacks. 24 buildings and structures operate on the territory of the enterprise, and the production facilities process approximately 2.5 thousand tons of rolled metal, castings and components per month.

The “Karpaty” plant is one of the three leaders in the production of freight cars. Today, 8 models of freight cars are produced here. It is also the only enterprise in Ukraine that manufactures many types of tank containers, including their modernization and repair. Each container has a certificate of the Shipping Register of Ukraine.
In addition, the company manufactures industrial and domestic capacities, tanks for food products, storage/transportation of petroleum products, and fuel tanks. Metal structures manufactured at the plant are delivered not only throughout Ukraine, but also to the countries of the European Union.
Due to the termination of the supply of absorption devices to Ukraine, the plant designed and prepared for testing absorption devices for production with parts and components exclusively of Ukrainian manufacturers.
Also, in July, the enterprise began the formation of a locomotive repair shop and a body shop.
Most of the products produced by the factory are certified in the UkrSEPRO system.
