LMKP “Lvivvodokanal” once again met a convoy of humanitarian aid from Germany. The Water4Ukraine initiative delivered generators, Gebo water fittings, overalls and computer equipment to Lviv.
“For us, every trip is a challenge, because we are always looking for volunteer drivers to transport aid to Ukraine, and crossing the border is not easy. This time we arrived late in the evening, but we are glad to be able to help. The participants of the initiative from Germany and Ukraine have already become good friends,” says the founder of the initiative, Elmar Tien.
To date, Water4Ukraine has already handed over 15 units of equipment for water utilities of Ukraine. And it is Lvivvodokanal that coordinates the receipt of aid and directs it to those cities that have suffered the most and need urgent help to restore the supply of drinking water to people.
We will remind you that the Water4Ukraine initiative has been helping Ukraine’s water utilities to function since the beginning of the war. It was started by the head of the corporate communications and strategic marketing department of the private company of the United Utilities of the city of Wuppertal (Germany) – Elmar Tien. The Water4Ukraine initiative is supported by the Association of German Utilities and the German Ministry of Economy and Finance. They collect funds, look for donors and transfer the necessary equipment. In Lviv, this initiative is coordinated by the deputy chief engineer for operation and repair of water supply networks, Volodymyr Bilinskyi. The NGO LEF (“Lviv Ecological Foundation”) and its head Roman Ruvinski helped organize logistics from the Ukrainian side.
