Water quality in Lviv meets all sanitary standards

LMKP “Lvivvodokanal” constantly takes water samples in various places, starting from wells and ending with water from the tap in the apartment. As of February 15, there are no deviations in microbiological and physico-chemical indicators in the tap water, the water quality corresponds to the current State sanitary rules and norms of the Ministry of Health and Welfare.

“Our chemical laboratory regularly takes water samples at dozens of points: starting from wells (the nearest of them is 13 km from Lviv, and the farthest – almost 100 km) and ending with water from a tap in the residence of Lviv residents.

Sampling and laboratory tests of drinking water take place both on weekdays and on weekends and holidays. Control of the safety and quality of water is carried out according to microbiological, organoleptic, physicochemical, sanitary-toxicological and radiological indicators at water intake points, before entering the water supply network, as well as in the distribution network.

Lviv residents are lucky to drink water from underground sources, which is ecologically clean and does not require additional purification before serving to consumers. All water supplied to Lviv is safe and of high quality and meets the requirements of DerzhSanPiNu 2.2.4-171-10 “Hygienic requirements for drinking water intended for human consumption”. A feature of our city’s water supply is a large number of water intakes. Therefore, water is supplied to Lviv from different directions, and each district of the city “drinks” water with a different chemical composition,” Lvivvodokanal LMKP reported.
