The traffic accident occurred on July 14, around 4:20 p.m., on the highway between the villages of Drogomyshl and Nagachiv, Yavoriv district.
As previously established by the law enforcement officers, the driver of the Skoda Octavia, a 51-year-old resident of the area, lost control and drove onto the left side of the road, where he collided with a metal bumper.
As a result of the accident, the minor passenger of the Skoda, a 10-year-old resident of the area, died of his injuries at the scene. Another passenger, a 19-year-old resident of the district, as well as the driver, received injuries of varying severity and were hospitalized.
According to the fact, the investigators of the Department of Investigation of Crimes in the Field of Transport of the Lviv Oblast Police opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of Traffic Safety Rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a period of three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of up to three years or without it.
Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
