14 years behind bars with confiscation of all property – a murderer was sentenced in Lviv

Under the procedural guidance of the prosecutors of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office and their principled position during the public indictment, a 26-year-old man was found guilty of premeditated murder committed for selfish reasons, robbery and possession of drugs without the purpose of sale (clause 6, part 2, article 115, part 4 Article 187, Part 1 Article 309 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The court sentenced him to 14 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.

Prosecutors proved in court that in October 2021, in one of the villages of the Lviv region, the convict entered the apartment of a lonely pensioner under the pretext of buying alcohol, where he attacked her with physical force, punching her in the head, causing the victim to fall to the floor and lose consciousness. . In order to complete his criminal intent, he stuffed a kitchen towel into the victim’s mouth, blocking her access to air, as a result of which the latter died on the spot.

After that, the person involved searched the apartment, found and stole cash in the total amount of more than UAH 13.5 thousand, as well as alcohol.

Immediately after the crime, the man went to his common-law wife, to whom he gave part of the money and alcohol to celebrate his daughter’s birthday, and he spent the rest of the money on food for the holiday.

In addition, during the search of the convict’s place of temporary residence, a particularly dangerous drug – cannabis – was discovered and seized.

The court’s verdict became legally binding.
