Under the procedural leadership of the Drohobytsk District Prosecutor’s Office, the pre-trial investigation was completed and the indictment against the 15-year-old boy was sent to court. He was charged with intentional grievous bodily harm causing death and robbery (Part 2 of Article 121, Part 4 of Article 186 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The investigation established that in Drohobych, in September 2023, in the evening, a previously convicted minor in a state of alcohol intoxication beat a pensioner. The latter was found by passers-by who called an ambulance. However, the 64-year-old man died the next day in the hospital.
However, the accused did not stop there and later robbed a pawn shop. While fleeing the scene, he beat the cashier-controller, breaking her nose.
At the prosecutor’s request, the suspect was remanded in custody.
The pre-trial investigation was carried out by the investigators of the Drohobytsky district police department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Lviv region.
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
