A 19-year-old resident of Stryshchyna stole a Suzuki motorcycle

A 19-year-old resident of Stryi district faces up to five years in prison for the crime. On August 28, the police received a report from a resident of Sokal that an unknown person had stolen his Suzuki motorcycle.

According to the investigators of the Chervonograd District Police Department, around 2:00 p.m., an unknown man, under the pretext of buying, illegally took possession of the applicant’s vehicle and fled in it, causing material damage to the victim in the amount of almost 2.5 thousand US dollars

Orientation on the vehicle was sent to all territorial divisions of the Lviv Oblast police. Around 5:00 p.m., criminal investigation operatives of the Lviv Oblast police, together with employees of the Stryi district police department and patrol officers, discovered a stolen motorcycle at a gas station in one of the villages of the Stryi district.

The law enforcement officers also established the identity of the intruder involved in the illegal possession, a 19-year-old resident of Stryi district. He was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, and soon the court will choose a preventive measure for the detainee.

Investigators of the Chervonohrad district police department informed the intruder that he is suspected of committing a criminal offense under Part 1 of Article 289 (Illegal possession of a vehicle) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of three to five years.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
