A resident of Lviv Region was detained for smuggling conscripts across the border for $ 2,100

Under the procedural guidance of prosecutors of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a resident of Lviv Region was detained and reported on suspicion of organizing a scheme of illegal transportation of conscripts abroad (Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, the suspect organized a scheme of illegal transportation of conscripts across the border of Ukraine with the assistance of officials of one of the customs posts of Lviv Customs. To do this, he created a telegram channel in which he offered “clients” for 2,100 US dollars to receive a package of documents that gave the right to cross the border to conscripts.

The defendant was detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the CPC of Ukraine after receiving part of the illegal benefit.

According to the court’s decision, the defendant was remanded in custody. Investigative actions continue, other involved persons are established.

Detection measures were carried out by investigators of the Territorial Department of the DBR, with the operational support of the USBU in Lviv region.

Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and may not be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proved in law and established by a court conviction.
