21-year-old man sold drugs and psychotropic substances in Lviv

Police detain offender suspected of selling large batches of drugs and psychotropics in Lviv

It was established that a 21-year-old resident of Lviv purchased so-called “master classes”, psychotropic substance mephedrone, narcotic drug cannabis and drug-containing pills, which he then sold “from hand to hand”. He used Internet messengers to communicate with his “clients”.

The offender was exposed by criminal police operatives jointly with investigators of the Police Department No. 1 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 1, under the procedural supervision of the Halychyna District Prosecutor’s Office.

On 12 September, law enforcement officers detained the suspect in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine on Kleparivska Street in Lviv on receiving another “masterclass” with psychotropic drugs, narcotic substances and narcotic pills.

The police seized the prohibited substances and sent them for examination to the Lviv Scientific Research Forensic Centre of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

The detainee was served a notice of suspicion of committing a criminal offence stipulated by Part 3 Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, shipment or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues). The maximum penalty under the article is imprisonment for up to twelve years with confiscation of property.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and the court will soon choose a measure of restraint against the suspect.
