In the Lviv region, the police detained an attacker suspected of fatally beating his relative
A 24-year-old resident of the city of Novoyavorivsk faces up to ten years in prison for the crime.
According to the law enforcement officers, the incident took place on the night of December 1 in an apartment in one of the buildings on Sichovyh Striltsiv Street in Novoyavorivsk. A domestic conflict arose between the 24-year-old son of the owner of the apartment and his 41-year-old uncle, during which the nephew brutally beat the relative, causing him serious injuries and fled the scene.
In two days, despite the efforts of doctors, the victim died in the hospital from his injuries.
Detectives of the criminal police, investigators and crews of the response sector of the patrol police of the Yavoriv district police department, as well as employees of the Department of Criminal Analysis of the Police of Lviv Oblast were involved in solving the crime.
The law enforcement officers established the location of the intruder, the investigators of the territorial division of the police, under the procedural guidance of the Yavoriv District Prosecutor’s Office, informed him of the suspicion of committing a criminal offense provided for in Part 2 of Article 121 (Intentional grievous bodily harm) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of seven to ten years.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and soon the court will choose a preventive measure for the suspect.
