Under the procedural guidance of the Drohobych District Prosecutor’s Office, a 29-year-old resident of Stebnyk has been charged with premeditated murder (Part 1, Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to preliminary information, the incident occurred in December this year in Drohobych. The suspect killed his 34-year-old acquaintance during a sudden conflict that arose while they were drinking together.

The men were guests at a gathering and consumed alcohol. During the argument, the suspect assaulted his acquaintance with his hands, feet, and a hoe he found in the apartment, inflicting numerous blows. The victim died at the scene from his injuries.

Afterward, the suspect called the police himself, claiming he found the victim in such a state on the street and brought him into the apartment to provide assistance.

The suspect was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. The court imposed the strictest preventive measure—detention without the possibility of bail.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the Drohobych District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Lviv Region.

Investigative actions are ongoing.

Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of a crime until proven guilty by a court verdict.
