A 57-year-old local resident was found guilty of illegal handling of weapons and military supplies (Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) following a public indictment by prosecutors of the Stryi District Prosecutor’s Office.
The court sentenced him to 3 years and 6 months of imprisonment.
Prosecutors proved in court that a man previously convicted of a similar crime in Stryi, after being released, did not take the path of correction. The convict again illegally purchased, stored and subsequently sold firearms and ammunition to local residents.
In particular, the man sold a firearm and cartridges for it, as well as a grenade.
He was detained during another sale of firearms.
The man will be in custody until the verdict becomes final.
