32-year-old driver from Lviv crashes into a fence and utility pole in Bryukhovychi while intoxicated

The morning of February 2nd turned into an extraordinary event in the town of Bryukhovychi, Lviv region, when a 32-year-old man from Lviv lost control of his Toyota RAV4, causing an accident with injuries. He collided with a utility pole, a fence, and a parked Volkswagen Transporter. Unfortunately, this resulted in the van striking a man who was on the sidewalk.

A 44-year-old man from Lviv district sustained injuries and was immediately hospitalized. Investigations revealed that the driver was under the influence of alcohol. The suspect is currently detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine with further court decisions pending regarding the preventive measure.

A criminal proceeding has been initiated under part 1 of Article 286-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, concerning the violation of road safety rules by persons under the influence. The article provides for a punishment of up to three years of imprisonment and a ban on driving for a period of 3 to 5 years.

Further investigative actions continue to clarify all the circumstances of the incident.
