A 34-year-old Lviv resident was stealing goods from city stores

Lviv law enforcement exposes criminal suspected of numerous shoplifting

It was established that a 34-year-old resident of Lviv, who had previously been prosecuted, was involved in at least nine shoplifting cases in Lviv. She faces up to eight years in prison for her crimes.

The suspect’s “specialization” was quite wide, ranging from food (including salmon caviar) to expensive cosmetics.

The offender was exposed by a district police officer together with criminal police operatives of the Police Department No. 1 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 1 using video surveillance cameras of the Safe Lviv Region system.

Investigators of the territorial police unit, under the procedural supervision of the Galician District Prosecutor’s Office, served the Lviv woman a notice of suspicion of committing a criminal offense under Part 4 of Art. 185 (Theft) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of five to eight years.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.

Law enforcement officers once again remind that under martial law, theft, robbery, extortion, as well as misappropriation, embezzlement or seizure of property through abuse of office, are punishable by maximum penalties.
