47-year-old Lviv resident to be tried for illegal sale of combat grenades

Prosecutors of the Frankivsk District Prosecutor’s Office in Lviv have sent to court an indictment against a previously convicted 47-year-old man.

He is accused of illegal acquisition, storage, carrying, and illegal sale of ammunition (Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The accused is currently in custody.

The investigation established that in January this year, in one of the districts of Lviv, a resident of Lviv illegally stored and sold combat grenades. It was documented that the man sold two fragmentation hand grenades to local residents for UAH 3,500 each.

The man was detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine during another sale.

The pre-trial investigation was carried out by investigators of the Police Department No. 1 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 2 of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv region.

Note: In accordance with Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and shall not be subjected to criminal punishment until his or her guilt is proved by law and established by a court verdict of guilty.
