A 49-year-old man from Stryi was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of two people

Based on the principled position of the regional prosecutor’s office, the Lviv Court of Appeal upheld the verdict of the Stryi city-district court of the Lviv region regarding a 49-year-old resident of Stryi region, who was accused of the intentional murder of two people (clause 1, part 2, article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Thus, prosecutors proved in court that back in 2018, a 49-year-old resident of Stryi region, while drinking alcoholic beverages at his place of residence, deliberately stabbed his son and his friend in the vital organs, inflicting a total of 14 stab wounds on the latter. which caused their instant death.

The court verdict in February of this year found the accused guilty and sentenced him to life imprisonment. However, not agreeing with this decision, the defense filed an appeal.

In July 2022, after hearing the arguments of the prosecutor’s office, the Lviv Court of Appeal left the verdict of the court of first instance unchanged.

The decision entered into legal force from the moment of its announcement.
