5,500 Euros for illegal border crossing by conscripts with forged documents – a Frenchman was detained in Lviv Oblast

Under the procedural leadership of the Zhovkiv district prosecutor’s office, a 21-year-old resident of the city of Ivano-Frankivsk was exposed and notified of suspicion of illegally transporting persons across the state border of Ukraine (Part 3, Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, the suspect contributed to the illegal crossing of the state border of Ukraine during martial law.

For a monetary reward, he promised the conscript to produce a package of fictitious documents, according to which the person was declared temporarily unfit for military service.

Therefore, this gave the man the right to cross the border unimpeded.

He estimated his services at 5,500 euros.

Investigations are ongoing. The issue of selecting a preventive measure in the form of detention is being resolved.

The pre-trial investigation is carried out by investigators of the Police Department No. 2 of the Lviv District Department No. 1 of the Main Department of the National Police in Lviv Region, operational support is provided by the Migration Police Department of the Main Department of the National Police in Lviv Region and a unit of the State Border Service of Ukraine.

Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
