A 50-year-old resident of Drohobych is suspected of illegal land acquisition

A 50-year-old resident of Drohobych was exposed by investigators of the Drohobych District Police Department under the supervision of the Drohobych District Prosecutor’s Office.

According to law enforcement officers, the offender, intending to obtain private ownership of a land plot for the construction of a garage, assisted in forging the relevant decision of the Drohobych City Council, which was not actually adopted. Subsequently, the defendant submitted the forged extract of the non-existent decision to the state registrar, who registered the ownership of the real estate in his name.

The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceeding initiated under Part 5 of Art. 27- Part 1 of Art. 358 (Assistance in forgery of documents, seals, stamps and forms, sale or use of forged documents, seals, stamps) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, Part 4 of Art. 358 (Use of a knowingly forged document) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and Part 1 of Art. 190 (Fraud) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine has been completed. The indictment was sent to the court for consideration.

The maximum penalty provided by the sanctions of the articles is restraint of liberty for up to three years.
