A 52-year-old man from Drohobych will spend 5 years behind bars for selling drugs in the city

The Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office appealed the decision of the court of first instance for the 52-year-old man in the Court of Appeal. He was found guilty of illegal acquisition, storage with the purpose of sale and sale of narcotic drugs, as well as illegal storage without the purpose of sale of psychotropic substances (Part 1 of Article 307, Part 1 of Article 309 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

By the judgment of the district court, he was sentenced to 3 years of imprisonment and released from serving the sentence with a probationary period.

The prosecutors did not agree with this decision and appealed it. Considering that the sentence is too lenient for such a crime, since the person involved has already been brought to criminal responsibility for crimes in the field of drug trafficking, as well as for crimes against property.

During the trial, it was established that the accused illegally sold amphetamine to local drug addicts in Drohobych.

The man kept psychotropic drugs in his apartment, where buyers came directly there to buy the goods.

During the searches, law enforcement officers discovered and seized a psychotropic substance, which he also kept for his own use.

The appellate court, after carefully examining the materials, supported the prosecution’s position and passed a new sentence. According to which the figure was sentenced to the actual measure of punishment – 5 years of imprisonment.
