A former employee of the colony will spend 6 years behind bars for selling drugs

With the participation of the prosecutors of the Lviv regional prosecutor’s office, the court of appeals left unchanged the verdict of the court of first instance, by which a former employee of one of the correctional colonies of the region was sentenced to 6 years of imprisonment, with confiscation of property. He was found guilty of illegal acquisition and possession for the purpose of sale of particularly dangerous narcotics (Part 2 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

It was established that the accused worked in one of the correctional colonies of the region as a supervisory inspector in the sector of the maximum security level, where the sentences of those convicted of particularly serious crimes are served.

In order to sell drugs to prisoners, he purchased cannabis, which is a particularly dangerous drug. After that, he illegally carried it to the territory of the institution, hiding the syringes with drugs behind his belt.

He was discovered and detained by operatives of the penal institution.

Currently, the accused has been dismissed from his position.
