A resident of Lviv Oblast wanted $7,500 for unhindered border crossing for conscripts

Under the procedural guidance of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a resident of Lviv Oblast was detained and informed of suspicion of illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine (Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, the suspect established a scheme for illegal crossing of the border by persons subject to mobilization. The man promised to ferry the conscript across the state border on the basis of known forged official documents giving the right to leave Ukraine under martial law. The defendant valued his services at $7,500.

The police detained the suspect while receiving the first part of the funds in the amount of 1,000 US dollars. He was remanded in custody.

The pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings is carried out by the investigators of the Investigative Department of the State Department of the State of Ukraine in the Lviv region based on the materials of the SBU Department in the Lviv region.

Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
