Under the procedural leadership of the Drohobytsk District Prosecutor’s Office, an indictment was sent to the court against the director of the construction enterprise on the facts of the appropriation of state funds in particularly large amounts, the legalization of property obtained through criminal means and official forgery (Part 5 of Article 191, Part 2 of Article 209, Part 1 Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, in 2020, a contract was concluded between the Skhidnytsia settlement council and the company headed by the accused for the construction of a bridge that was supposed to unite the village. Skhidnytsy with the neighboring village.
In the future, with the aim of seizing budget funds, the accused enters into the official documentation inaccurate data about the scope of the works performed and the cost of the materials used. In this way, the director of the company appropriated UAH 8.7 million.
After that, in order to legalize these funds, he concludes a financial loan agreement with the company he leads and transfers the illegally obtained money to his private account.
The accused is currently in custody. At the prosecutor’s request, in order to ensure compensation for damages, his property was seized (for a total amount of about 7.5 million UAH) and a civil lawsuit was filed.
The pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings is carried out by the investigators of the Drohobytsky District Police Department of the State Police in Lviv Oblast based on the materials of the Drohobytsky District Office of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Lviv Oblast.
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
