Six people were injured, the driver was intoxicated – the police are investigating the circumstances of the accident in the Lviv Region
The traffic accident occurred on August 8 at 4:10 p.m. on the highway between Sosnivka and Silets of Chervonograd district.
As previously established by the law enforcement officers, the driver of the Mazda car, a 32-year-old resident of Chervonograd, lost control of the vehicle, drove into the oncoming lane, where he collided with a Volkswagen Passat driven by a 27-year-old resident of Sosnivka.
As a result of the collision, the Mazda driver and his 19-year-old passenger were injured and hospitalized. Also, the driver and three passengers of the Pasat, all residents of Sosnivka aged 51, 37 and 29, were taken to the medical facility.
In addition, it was established that the Mazda driver was driving the vehicle while intoxicated.
According to the fact, the investigators of the Chervonohrad district police department opened criminal proceedings under part 1 of article 286-1 (Violation of the rules of road traffic safety or operation of transport by persons driving vehicles while intoxicated) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of up to three years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of three to five years.
A pre-trial investigation is being conducted, law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
