The employees of the DBR opened criminal proceedings on the fact of a tragic road accident in the Lviv region. Four people, three of whom are military personnel, died in a collision between a car and a truck.
The tragedy occurred on December 16 at around 3:00 p.m. on the Kyiv-Chop highway near the village of Smozhe, Stryi District, Lviv Region. All the dead were in a car belonging to one of the military units.
According to preliminary data, the military man who was driving the car lost control and drove into the oncoming lane, where a truck with a trailer was moving at that moment.
The investigation is conducted on the fact of violation of road safety rules involving military transport (Part 2 of Article 415 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
All the circumstances of the tragedy are being established, and examinations have been scheduled.
Procedural management is carried out by the Lviv Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in the field of defense of the Western region.
