Nine injured in a car collision in Chervonohrad

The accident happened on 31 May, around 23.10, on Promyslova Street in Chervonohrad.

This was reported by the Police of Lviv region.

As law enforcement officers have preliminarily established, a minibus Volkswagen Transporter driven by a 41-year-old resident of Volyn region collided with a Mazda 6 driven by a resident of a village in Chervonohrad district.

As a result of the accident, nine people were injured and taken to hospital: the driver of the car and two of his passengers, men aged 26 and 47, both from Chervonohrad, as well as the driver and five passengers of the minibus, a 17-year-old boy and a 55-year-old woman from Chervonohrad district and three residents of Volyn region aged 34, 38 and 41.

Investigators of the Chervonohrad District Police Department opened criminal proceedings over the incident under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of the rules of road safety) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided for by the sanction of the article is restraint of liberty for up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.

Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
